The Village Vanguard is a jazz club in the west village off of broadway and can be easy to miss if you aren’t paying attention. The atmosphere there is great and they usually put on great acts. I don’t know what the current price per set is right now, but it shouldn’t be more then 40. There is a two drink cover there.

Doors open at 8:00pm. Sets begin at 9:00pm and 11:00pm nightly. From time to time, there is an additional 12:30am set on Saturday. It’s best to call the club for confirmation of a third set.
